Well
Health for Life - Yoga
The Healthy Aging Movement, is based on the
belief that baby boomers and beyond are forging a new identity
of what
it is to stay young,
while growing older.
In order to slow down the aging process one needs to keep moving
-- especially with yoga.
In past generations there have been too
few healthy role models to emulate. In the past, after a certain age, our parents
or grandparents simply gave up and gave in to the inevitability
of being old, and
all that the concept implied.
The truth is we are all aging, starting from the moment of
birth. But, here is the question to consider. Is our own
aging process
accelerated or slowed down? Never before has so much new and crucial information been
available about how, as we age, to live a healthy and abundant
life,
including the practice of yoga, meditation, relaxation
and breathing techniques
to reduce stress. It is stress that may very well be the
number one destroyer of our lives.
Now, we may have the choice of wellness over illness, growth
instead of stagnation, hopefulness to replace lethargy.
Now is the time
to take full responsibility for ourselves, knowing no
one else is better suited for this crucial job of keeping our
selves
healthy, vital, alive.

Chair Yoga All the many benefits of Yoga may be achieved while sitting
in a chair or using the chair for balance while standing.
These classes are appreciated by elders or those recovering
from an illness or surgery and therefore may have limited endurance
or mobility. They are offered in residential apartment complexes
or privately in the home.
Learning and practicing Chair Yoga is also helpful for those
who sit, working long hours, at a desk.
Participants learn how to safely stretch and strengthen the
entire body, relax the mind, practice breathing techniques,
and other
tools for healthful living.
I provide services to Senior Centers , Assisted Living Facilities,
Nursing Homes and private residences.
